Mom Moments

In those moments when I look around the room and see the evidence of what teenagers can leave behind- nerf darts, socks on the stairs, trash that was in front of them all morning but still didn’t make it outside to the cans, throw blankets bundled on the couch, laundry left in the dryer, and cereal box left on the table….I remember to be thankful. πŸ€—

I’m thankful that they each do their own laundry, and I don’t have to touch stinky athletic clothes. I’m thankful that in the hustle of the morning routine, they get their own breakfast and make their own lunch, and the mess left behind is evidence of the personal responsibility they are learning. πŸ’ͺ

The nerf darts are examples that they still like to play, and even though they are teenagers now, they do not always sequester themselves in their rooms all the time. The blankets on the couch is there as a reminder of the family movie night from last night, and I’m thankful they still like spending time with the family. 😍

Yes, it’s easy to be overwhelmed by the clutter and mess, but it’s evidence of so much more – love and lessons! And isn’t that what family is all about?! πŸ˜‰

Showing Appreciation

Yesterday morning I had the privilege to deliver 16 dozen homemade cookies for the staff at the junior high school! πŸͺ

The entire time my boys have been in school, I have been a working mom away from the home. I’ve always sent my bribe gifts and extra supplies when asked, but never have I been able to participate in something to this scale. I would not have been able to give enough time at night to bake and pack that many cookies! Extra time in my schedule just didn’t exist. πŸ€·β€β™€οΈ

Now, when asked to participate in things during the day, I have the flexibility to do so! My #sidehustle allows me to work the time I allow and provides the extra money to participate! ❀

Overthinking

Hang on. Let me overthink this…πŸ’

Why do we get caught in this trap of indecision?! We think about the possibilities, we think about the positives, then we think about the negatives. We dwell on each item like it’s a checklist in our mind. πŸ™„

What if we just stop and pray? Ask God to provide the answer we are seeking….and then make the decision! We must have faith that God is big enough to provide for the good decisions and a way out of the bad decisions. After all, He walks with us each step of the way! πŸ™

Most importantly, we must work on developing ourselves! Study the Bible and learn what God has to say. Read books to grow your capabilities! And then you can learn to lean on your intuition! ❀

Normal?

Who wants a normal or average life? πŸ€”

Not me! I want a life of abundance! I want to love abundantly, give abundantly, and live abundantly! ❀

I want to be wierd! I don’t want to be a normal American living pray check to pray check! I want to help others instead of just being focused on myself!

I want to grow and continue reading instead of binge watching the latest season on Netflix. I want to be amazing! πŸ€—

Serve Others

Do you have a place to serve others? It’s important!

I feel if everyone does something, one person (or a few) won’t have to do everything! πŸ™‹β€β™€οΈ

I know with our busy schedules, we start having the mentality that someone else will step up to help. God has called us all to serve, and in most cases it’s not hard!

A little time, a little effort, can make a huge difference in a person’s life. Just start somewhere! ❀

Parenting

Be quick to anger, and so will they.

Yell, and so will they.

Complain, and so will they.

Play, and so will they.

Listen, encourage and support, and so will they.

Sing, dance and laugh, and so will they.

Be kind and compassionate, and so will they.

When you look at your child, you are looking in the mirror.

And when one of your teenagers wants to take a picture with you, you grab your opportunity! ❀

Confident

Are you a confident person? I thought I was, or at least I thought I was more confident than others…and that counts, right?🀣

Then 4 years ago, something changed! I changed! It’s crazy to think how a change in your morning routine can start a lifestyle change! How fueling your body with core nutrition, where you are no longer napping all day or are moody all day, can produce such a dramatic change. You start feeling good and then start investing in yourself further! πŸ€·β€β™€οΈπŸ˜

I now invest in myself daily with time in the Bible and time in personal development! The result – confidence! Confidence in who I am and who I can become! And of course…I finally have the energy to do it all! πŸ“–πŸ’ͺ

In 10 Years…

In 10 years, I absolutely refuse to say:
β €
πŸ™πŸ½ I wish I would have spent more time with them.
πŸ™πŸ½ I wish I would have stayed home in the summers with them.
πŸ™πŸ½ I wish I would have made them a priority. β €
πŸ™πŸ½ I wish I would have soaked up every minute with them.
πŸ™πŸ½ I wish I played more with them.
πŸ™πŸ½I wish I was more present with them.
β €
I know exactly where my time goes and it passes by with THEM! πŸ™Žβ€β™‚οΈπŸ™Žβ€β™‚οΈ
β €
Ten years will come and go regardless of how we spend our days. πŸ’πŸ»β€β™€οΈ I will have zero regrets, a full savings of memories AND money. πŸ’― Yes. I run a business to make money…who doesn’t? The difference is i don’t have to trade time and memories for it. ✌🏼

❀️You can create a life you love my friend!❀️

Dorothy and Her Ruby Slippers

If you’re anything like me, you grew up watching the Wizard of Oz. Most of us have watched it so many times, we can recite lines from the movie by heart. However, did we really listen or understand the message in the movie? As a kid, probably not, but what about as an adult? Rachel Hollis made a comment during the her documentary Made For More Encore, that had me evaluating the themes within the movie.

After reaching Oz, Dorthy takes a journey. During that journey she meets friends along the way. Those friends have her back! Those friends start their own journey with her. Each have their own goals, but they are on the same path. Intelligence(a brain), Life (a heart), Courage, and Love (going home). Along this journey, they go up against those who are trying to sabotage their goal, and those that encourage their goals, but they fight through it all to continue their journey. Their GOALS were big enough to fight for and continue.

In the end, with each other’s help and encouragement, they succeed! Dorthy learns her pathway home was really her ruby slippers. She learned- You’ve always had the power all along. She needed the obstacles on her journey, the friends she met on the way, and the successes of each battle to learn she had the POWER.

What obstacles are you facing on your journey? Is your goal big enough for you to continue to fight through it all? Do you have people that ridicule or bully you for your decisions? Who is there to encourage you through each step on the path?

I have friends and family who do not support me. I’m sure it is out of love in an effort to protect me from failure. However, they need to see that I am DETERMINED to succeed. I have to battle my own mind when it comes to my physical journey…no one can put in the work at the gym except me. My goal to help others live the life they deserve, physically and/or financially, is true and pure. My joy and passion for others is contagious, and it will spread like a ripple in the water!
