Overthinking

Hang on. Let me overthink this…πŸ’

Why do we get caught in this trap of indecision?! We think about the possibilities, we think about the positives, then we think about the negatives. We dwell on each item like it’s a checklist in our mind. πŸ™„

What if we just stop and pray? Ask God to provide the answer we are seeking….and then make the decision! We must have faith that God is big enough to provide for the good decisions and a way out of the bad decisions. After all, He walks with us each step of the way! πŸ™

Most importantly, we must work on developing ourselves! Study the Bible and learn what God has to say. Read books to grow your capabilities! And then you can learn to lean on your intuition! ❀

Leadership

Leadership is like compound interest! Each day of development compounds on the day before as you learn and apply!

So, what did you do yesterday to strengthen your leadership ability? What are you doing today to continue to grow? πŸ€”

It’s time to invest in yourself, and then in return, invest in your team! Develop your own leadership style, and it will pay off in the future! ❀

In 10 Years…

In 10 years, I absolutely refuse to say:
β €
πŸ™πŸ½ I wish I would have spent more time with them.
πŸ™πŸ½ I wish I would have stayed home in the summers with them.
πŸ™πŸ½ I wish I would have made them a priority. β €
πŸ™πŸ½ I wish I would have soaked up every minute with them.
πŸ™πŸ½ I wish I played more with them.
πŸ™πŸ½I wish I was more present with them.
β €
I know exactly where my time goes and it passes by with THEM! πŸ™Žβ€β™‚οΈπŸ™Žβ€β™‚οΈ
β €
Ten years will come and go regardless of how we spend our days. πŸ’πŸ»β€β™€οΈ I will have zero regrets, a full savings of memories AND money. πŸ’― Yes. I run a business to make money…who doesn’t? The difference is i don’t have to trade time and memories for it. ✌🏼

Habits

As a follow up to watching Rachel Hollis’ Made for More Encore, I am covering one of the 5 steps to success each day. The last step addresses Habits!

Have you ever identified your regular habits? Rachel states that we need to identify all of the habits in our daily routine, and then identify if they are good or bad. What is the purpose in this, to get rid of the bad habits of course!

We want our good habits to be strong and second nature to us…like brushing our teeth. We would not go a day without brushing our teeth, and we want our other good habits to be just as strong. I want the habit of working out to be just as strong as my habit to brush my teeth.

Bad habits then need to go away! We know this, but yet, what do we actually do about it? I have a bad habit of getting on social media way too much. I want to be more intentional with my time, I have goals to achieve, and scrolling through Facebook isn’t intentional nor money making.

I will focus on my bad habits so that I can change my behavior. I need 30 days to begin a good habit. I need to focus on the intention of my time, the determination of achieving my goals, without losing track and being buried under a bad habit. My mind is right, now my body needs to follow!

Morning Routine

As a follow up to watching Rachel Hollis’ Made for More Encore, I am covering one of the 5 steps to success each day. Today addresses your Morning Routine.

How do you set your day up for success? Rachel gets up an hour earlier than the rest of her household so she has time for herself. This is when she writes in her journal and when she heads to the gym to work out each day. This is a time to invest in herself before she gives to anyone else.

What is your morning routine like? I confess, while I have good intentions, so far, mine is not very set. I don’t like to get up early. I can get up for mom duties, but I’d rather sleep until at least 7am. However, even today, getting up at 6 for mom duties to make lunches, and then change to head to the gym, I still find it getting later and later in the morning. I was done at the gym and going home by 9, but I was not at the gym for 2 hours. I need to manage my time better and more intentionally. I guess I have the fear of missing out when it comes to certain social media activities, and I get easily distracted by other things I need to do.

I feel like I should be back from the gym around 8am, leaving the rest of the morning and afternoon available to get things done for my business. It should not take me 2 hours to do hair and makeup either. My boys tease me about being slow, but I don’t think I’m as slow as so much as I am distracted. I am determined to get these activities under control and start my morning routine in a productive manor that helps me to succeed.

Do you want an Average life?

Most people live a average life. They are born, they learn, they work, they raise a family, the retire, and then eventually die. That’s average…typical or usual. Most people are okay with this. Most people are average.

However, when we think about average, let’s put it into another context. Do you want an average meal, or a great meal? Do you want an average doctor, or the best doctor? Do want to see an average movie, or the best movie ever? Do want an average marriage, or an amazing marriage?

I am not average. I want MORE. I want the best, I want to be the best, and I want to leave a legacy for my family! I want to live more and give more! I want a great life, filled with amazing memories with my husband and boys. I want to make an impact in my community.

An average person doesn’t do these things. A person determined to succeed can do these things. I am determined!

Christmas is the same day every year

If my siblings are reading this, they are groaning right now. The words above have come out of my father’s mouth a time or two. We groan because he’s right, we groan because we know we are still going to be late with sending our gifts.

This day did not sneak up on us. It’s December 25th every year, no matter what day of the week it falls on. That’s our deadline for gifts, cards, and parties. Can you do any of these things after December 25th? Of course! But are they really for Christmas, or are they for the New Year?

It is up to us to manage our own time. It is up to us to set our daily, weekly, and monthly priorities and goals. We should not let time manage us. This happens when we over commit ourselves.

I admitted to my husband on Friday night that I had over committed myself for things this coming week. I did this to myself by not saying NO, I did this to myself by not signing up for simpler items, and I did this to myself so I will fulfill my commitments. I talked it out, and came up with a plan. He helped me consider curveballs that may come at me this week, so I am prepared with a plan B if necessary.

I will not let busyness be an excuse to fulfill my commitments. I will not let busyness be an excuse to not go after my goals. Busy people get things done. It’s crunch time! I will be patient and kind, I will offer grace to others, and I will choose joy in my circumstances.

The good news for me is that I don’t have to mail my gifts to my dad. We will deliver them ourselves when we go visit him…after Christmas. Yes, I see the irony in my statement, but this is how we balance.
